Please mark your calendars for the Southern Illinois Dressage Classic on Sept. 15-16 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Du Quoin, Illinois. The Southern Illinois Dressage Classic is a wonderful opportunity to show your horse in a fun, low-key environment at a lovely show facility with convenient stabling and amenities. The show will offer the traditional dressage fare as well as classes for gaited horses, musical freestyles and untraditional tack.
SIDC Benefit for 2012 will be NARHA Horses for Heroes, in Lex
ington. KY. and at Fort Campbell, KY. Horses for Heroes is completely funded by community support, and uses the healing power of horses to help our returning Military Veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq deal with difficult physical and mental conditions due to combat. See http://www.ckrh.org/# for more information on this worthy program.. To sponsor one veteran for an entire 12 week session is $996. We sponsored TWO veterans in 2011….Let’s see how many hours of sponsorship we can provide for this wonderful program in 2012!

Lincoln Trails Dressage Members, MISHO, and FRRIENDS members will receive LEDA membership rates at the SIDC - $20 per class, $75 for 4 classes over 2 days.
LODGING - The Fairgrounds Inn (888-542-5001 or www.fairgroundsinn.com) is offering a special rate per night for the show. Please mention the Southern Illinois Dressage Classic when making your reservation to take advantage of this special rate.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY LUNCH - A free lunch for all exhibitors, friends, and families in exchange for a small monetary donation to benefit NARHA Horses for Heroes.
VOLUNTEER/COMPETITORS PARTY on Saturday from 3-8 p.m., located near the secretary’s office. Sponsored by K&M Pferdehof, www.kmpferdehof.com.
SIDC TEAM COMPETITION: Riders may enter the team competition until 7 p.m. on Sept. 14th. For more information see the SIDC prize list.
SILENT AUCTION TO BENEFIT HORSES FOR HEROES. A silent auction will be held on Friday & Saturday near the show office. Any donations for the silent auction would be appreciated – they can be new or lightly used items, and do not have to be horse related. Please bring items to the show or contact the show manager for more details at spearhead10000@yahoo.com.
SPECIAL CLASSES OFFERED TO BENEFIT HORSES FOR HEROES – riders at all levels will have the opportunity to enter a H4H Class on Saturday, Sept. 15. Special HFH red, white and blue ribbons will be awarded in these classes

HORSES FOR HERORES CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES: held on Sunday, September 16th. First thru fourth places receive large HFH Championship ribbons. Winner receives a $50 cash prize. All other placings receive HFH ribbons. To qualify for championship classes, horse/rider combination must enter a Benefit class on Saturday (15th) OR must have qualified at shows having HFH classes.
HIGH POINT AWARDS; high point trophies and ribbons awarded to high point junior and senior riders. Horse/Rider pair’s high score from both days will be averaged for final score.
